The culture of the UAE has a strong influence on its unique environment. The state is consisting of seven states of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al-Qaiwain, and Fujairah. Abu Dhabi is the biggest and Ajman is the smallest land representing Emirate. It is a country where people from different communities and traditions are living their lives, so it is a little harder to define the culture of the UAE. Let’s discuss the old and present-day culture of UAE to get a better understanding.

The traditional culture consists of desert-oriented Bedouins (the oldest inhabitants of the desert) and the Fishermen. The country consists of a small tribe with a population of 85 thousand in 1960, as reported by the Essay writing service, but now it increases up to 9 Million peoples which include 19% locals and 81% from other countries, most of them are Iranis, Indians, Pakistani and Bengali. The official language is Arabic, whereas the immigrants speak their native languages like English, Urdu, Hindi, and Farsi. The religion followed by most of the people is Islam.

The modern technology transforms the cities of UAE, they have a variety of shopping areas, wide roads having a line of trees along with it, a network of connecting highways, and well structured separated housing area for the nationals and immigrants. The urban decorative designs and the Persian heritage inspired the culture of the UAE. The mosque, old forts, date palm trees, and market places together present the touch of urban and Persian heritage.

The people of  UAE promotes their traditional attire, such as Kandura, a lengthy white shirt touches the ankle with Ghutra (a hand scarf) usually worn on the head with a fancy rope called Agal. The Bedouins preferred to wear a white dress because it is a good reflector of harsh sun rays, so it becomes the most favorite color for Emirati men, during the winter season they also wear gray and brown. Whereas women wear an Abaya with shells (a traditional scarf). The young Emirati generation also follows the western dresses. Fragrances are an essential part of the tradition of UAE.

As part of the meal, the people of the UAE usually prefer goat meat, fish and camel milk. In the past, in a long journey of the desert, Bedouins took complex carbohydrates to get energy. Coffee and Dates are also the essential elements of their diet; you can have a pot of Dallah coffee in one dirham, which is the sign of their hospitality and a warm welcome to the visitors. The visitors use to take this coffee with some dates to get nutrition in the body.  Luqaimat, Emirati meal is incomplete without this delicious dessert. You will find women serving Luqaimat across desert safari because this bite-sized dessert is a must-try dish for the visitors in UAE.

The people of the UAE are more cultural than sporty, which means it also represents the touch of their culture. Bedouins played these games to survive rather than for fun, but it is quite impressive that these are still played by the modern Emirati with great enthusiasm. These include camel racing, falconry, horse riding, and free-diving. Football and cricket are also getting popularity in UAE these days.
